Información adicional The Bounty, a 25-metre-long sailing ship under Captain William Bligh, was to bring breadfruit trees from Tahiti to England. During the voyage, there was a mutiny led by Fletcher Christian, who abandoned Bligh and part of the crew in a dinghy. Bligh managed to navigate to Timor without suitable charts, while the Bounty with the mutineers only made it as far as Pitcairn Island and was burned there. Despite the often negative portrayal in films and books, some historians do not regard Bligh as evil, but as a victim of Christian's provocations. The Cook Island Bounty coin has been issued by the South Pacific archipelago of Cook Islands since 2009, but minted in Germany, which is known as an agency issue. The islands were discovered by James Cook in 1773 and named after him.
